Prof. Fábio H. Ribeiro (Purdue University, EUA)

On March 3, at 2 pm (GMT), scientist Fábio H. Ribeiro will speak about CISTAR, the engineering research center of the National Science Foundation (USA), dedicated to the transformation of light hydrocarbons from natural shale gas in fuels and other chemicals. Ribeiro is director of CISTAR and professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University. He is editor of the Journal of Catalysis (Elsevier).

After graduating in Chemical Engineering in Brazil from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME), Ribeiro developed, in the United States, an outstanding international scientific career in the field of catalysis. He earned a doctoral degree from Stanford University in 1989, worked as a researcher in industry, and did postdoctoral work at the University of California – Berkeley. Prior to joining Purdue University in 2003, he served on the faculty of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Working mainly on the study of the kinetics of heterogeneous catalytic reactions and on the characterization of catalysts under reaction conditions, the scientist had dozens of scientific articles published, many of them with several hundred citations. Ribeiro’s h-index is 71 (Google Scholar).

In this CINE Webinar, it will be possible to learn about how CISTAR is organized and who its researchers and research lines are, opening up possibilities for collaboration with the NSF center.
