More durable perovskite solar cells

A study conducted at UFABC with members of CINE presents a way to mitigate the rapid degradation of perovskite solar cells – a problem that limits the use of this technology in everyday life and has been challenging researchers in the field. The authors managed to increase the durability of these devices using a production recipe that has an important difference: it does not require the usual rigorous humidity control. “The solar cells in this work were obtained under ambient conditions, which may be more compatible with industrial preparation conditions”, highlights Professor Andre Sarto Polo, researcher at CINE. Interview with Hudson Zanin

“The development of technologies that will be in use in 5 to 10 years is our main obsession”, says Professor Hudson Zanin (Unicamp), coordinator of the Advanced Energy Storage program at CINE. In this conversation with our newsletter, this young and distinguished scientist who focuses his efforts on helping Brazil achieve energy sovereignty explains how the results of the program can benefit society. Invited lecture on perovskite stability

Professor Ana Flavia Nogueira (Unicamp), researcher and director of CINE, was recently in Seattle (USA) to give an invited lecture at one of the largest and most prestigious Materials Science events in the world, the MRS Spring Meeting & Exhibit. In her presentation, the scientist showed that it is possible to increase the stability of perovskite solar cells using two-dimensional materials coupled to three-dimensional structures. Learn more.
