The third edition of CINE Talks begins in March.
Through online seminars to be held throughout 2026, the CINE Talks program will present advancements achieved by the Center in technologies central to the energy transition.
In bi-weekly events, young CINE researchers and collaborators will address research related to the development of emerging technologies for batteries, solar cells, and the production of sustainable fuels, among other topics. The use of artificial intelligence and other computational tools in the study of these technologies will also be discussed.
Created in 2021, the CINE Talks program, which is now beginning its third cycle of seminars, has as its main objectives to expand the internal and external circulation of knowledge produced at CINE and to establish a space for continuous integration among the Center’s four research programs.
“We hope that CINE Talks will generate a direct impact on the CINE community by bringing together researchers, students, and teams from different programs, fostering more frequent interactions, new collaborations, and a more integrated view of the Center’s activities,” says Professor Juarez L. F. Da Silva (IQSC-USP), coordinator of Education and Knowledge Dissemination at CINE.
In this edition of the program, the seminars will be open to the public. “CINE Talks may interest people from academia, the productive sector, research institutions, public bodies, and society in general who wish to follow qualified discussions on the scientific, technological, and innovation challenges involved in the development of new energy solutions,” invites Juarez.
The inaugural seminar of this cycle will be held on March 20th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. On that occasion, postdoctoral researcher Marionir Macedo Castelo Branco Neto (IQSC-USP) will deliver, in English, the seminar “Computational Insights into Iridium-Based Electrocatalysts for Water Splitting”.
All CINE members will receive an email invitation to participate in the event on the Google Meet platform. People who are not part of CINE and wish to participate in the seminars should register (free of charge) at: https://forms.gle/N7Gpr6xm26apmnPM8
