Optimizing next-generation fuel cells
A review article with extensive participation of CINE authors brings together valuable scientific information to further improve SOFCs, fuel cells capable of generating clean, renewable energy with high efficiency from a variety of fuels. “Brazil has the capacity to develop its own technology in this area, reducing dependence on foreign suppliers and opening up opportunities for applications in clean energy and sustainable mobility,” says Professor Gustavo Doubek, who conducts research on the subject at CINE. Postdoctoral fellow Andre Navarro de Miranda presented CINE’s research findings on lithium-oxygen (Li-O2) batteries at the Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition 2025, an event that brought together thousands of executives, policymakers, and energy professionals from around the world.
