Neste trabalho, liderado pela pesquisadora Ana Fl\u00e1via Nogueira (Unicamp), os autores usaram a estrat\u00e9gia de passivar a superf\u00edcie do material para neutralizar seus defeitos e, dessa forma, diminuir a degrada\u00e7\u00e3o que a perovskita sofre em contato com o ambiente. Os pesquisadores utilizaram pontos qu\u00e2nticos de perovskita para fazer essa passiva\u00e7\u00e3o. Contando com o pesquisador Hudson Zanin (Unicamp) como um dos autores principais, a equipe prop\u00f4s uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o simples e concreta ao principal problema dessa tecnologia &#8211; o chamado \u201cefeito vaiv\u00e9m\u201d (<i>shuttle effect<\/i>), o qual reduz a efici\u00eancia, vida \u00fatil e capacidade desses dispositivos. Neste trabalho, os autores buscaram compreender em detalhe dois fatores que afetam a efici\u00eancia desse processo: a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de bolhas na superf\u00edcie dos eletrodos e a varia\u00e7\u00e3o de pH na interface entre eletrodo e eletr\u00f3lito. No estudo, que foi coordenado pelo pesquisador Ernesto Chaves Pereira (UFSCar), a equipe usou t\u00e9cnicas avan\u00e7adas de processamento de imagem para examinar mais de 8 mil bolhas em cada experimento realizado, al\u00e9m de observar como as mudan\u00e7as no pH afetam o tamanho das bolhas. Nessas situa\u00e7\u00f5es, o arranjo dos \u00e1tomos dentro do material muda, passando da chamada \u201cfase c\u00fabica\u201d \u00e0 \u201cfase hexagonal\u201d, a qual n\u00e3o absorve luz com a mesma efici\u00eancia que a primeira. Liderados pelo pesquisador Juarez L. F. Da Silva (IQSC-USP), os autores investigaram a transi\u00e7\u00e3o de fases por meio de <b>simula\u00e7\u00f5es computacionais<\/b>. Quarenta e tr\u00eas estruturas diferentes foram usadas para explorar essa transi\u00e7\u00e3o.
